A special message from Kyle Kaneshiro, ACECH President:
Aloha ACECH Member Firms,
Our hearts go out to the many people impacted by the wildfires on Maui. While we can report that no ACECH family members were lost or firm offices damaged by the tragic events, there have been a few families of ACECH member firms who have lost their homes or have been displaced and are currently homeless. Efforts to directly assist those who have been impacted are being identified and will be shared once available.
ACECH is committed to being a part of the recovery and rebuilding efforts for the Maui community. Several groups within ACECH, such as the Emerging Leaders Program, have already organized drives and collected donations to help the immediate needs of the Lahaina community. To continue to support victims of this tragedy, government officials are now suggesting monetary donations to one of the many organizations coordinating with government agencies. ACECH suggests donating to one of the organizations listed below.
We want to thank the member firms who have already committed or pledged substantial monetary contributions to help support the victims and rebuild their community. To date, ACECH member firms have pledged over $150,000 to these efforts and we encourage everyone to continue to be a part of this movement.
In speaking with several of the disaster relief organizations, rebuilding efforts often fall to the wayside after the initial few months of a tragedy. In addition to supporting the immediate recovery needs, ACECH is also committed to assisting with long-term solutions needed to rebuild the Lahaina community. Discussions are already under way with government agencies and other organizations, such as AIA, to collaborate and utilize our expertise to help Lahaina rebuild itself. We look forward to your kokua when the time comes.
Should you or anyone in your firm want to take part in the planning, coordination, and collaboration efforts, please reach out to one of the Board Members.
Aloha No,
Kyle Kaneshiro
