Aloha ACEC-Hawai‘i Members,
As we enter the month of November, it’s a time for reflection and gratitude. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to pause and appreciate the many things we have to be thankful for, especially within our engineering community.
Thankfulness in the Engineering Industry
This year, our industry has continued to demonstrate resilience, innovation, and dedication. We are grateful for our talented professionals who work tirelessly to shape Hawai‘i’s infrastructure, promote sustainability, and ensure the safety and well-being of our communities. Our engineers, project managers, technicians, and support staff all play essential roles in making Hawai‘i a better place to live and work.
We are thankful for the partnerships and collaborations—between firms, public agencies, and educational institutions—that foster creativity and advance our projects. The support from our clients and the trust they place in us motivate us to set higher standards and strive for excellence every day.
Let’s also acknowledge the spirit of mentorship and professional development that exists within ACEC-Hawai‘i. By sharing knowledge and nurturing the next generation of engineers, we ensure the continued growth and success of our industry.
Upcoming Events
November is a busy month for ACEC-Hawai‘i, and I encourage everyone to stay engaged and participate in our upcoming events. Please visit www.acechawaii.org for the latest details and registration information. Last month I wrote about the impact that AI is having in our industry and our next GMM on December 3 will tie into this theme with the topic being on AI readiness. Also, keep a look out for upcoming neighbor island GMMs on the Big Island and Kaua‘i!
These events are excellent opportunities to reconnect with colleagues, learn something new, and celebrate our shared achievements.
Closing Thoughts
I am continually grateful for the dedication and passion of our ACEC-Hawai‘i members. Your commitment helps drive our industry forward and strengthens our organization. As we celebrate Thanksgiving this month, let’s continue to support one another and look ahead to new opportunities and successes.
Wishing you and your families a safe, healthy, and joyful Thanksgiving!
Mahalo,
ACEC-Hawaii President
