A big round of applause to our outstanding 2025 Symposium Planning Committee! Thanks to their hard work, this year’s event drew a record-breaking 209 attendees, featured 14 sessions, and welcomed 16 guest speakers from government agencies across the state. The day was packed with valuable insights into State and City procurement processes.
We also announced the 2025–2026 ACECH Board slate and had the honor of hearing from Mayor Rick Blangiardi, who expressed his appreciation and support for the engineering community. Several attendees shared that they’d like to see the Symposium become an annual event—feedback we’re seriously considering.
That suggestion is especially timely, as the Board is currently engaged in strategic planning to guide ACECH over the next three to five years. Our goal is clear: to define how we can best deliver value to member firms statewide. From new programs and training opportunities to stronger networking and leadership development, all ideas are on the table.
One way to get more involved with ACECH is to come to our General Membership Meetings (GMM)! Our next GMM will take place on Kauai at the Poipu Golf Course Restaurant on June 27. We are honored to have the Mayor of Kauai, Derek Kawakami, as our special guest speaker! Following the GMM, there will be a round of friendly competition and opportunities to connect with fellow industry comrades.
Stay tuned—there’s more to come for Hawaii’s engineering community!
